At this point I inserted the chutes as I had to glue the boards for the front wall around the top of the chutes. With the first board glued I removed the chutes and finished the front wall.
FRONT WALL
A look from the back at the front wall (shown light green). Some filler planking and a nailing strip shown in red. The side walls nail to the nailing strip. There are additional nailing strips nailed to the floor along the diagonals and the caps. These are really stops to help keep the walls in place.
SIDEWALLS
With the nailing strips/stops in place, the sidewalls could go up. This entire process was done with forethought … really. Each part that goes up dictates where the other parts fit. I would not kid you .. really ..
TOP BOARDS
The last board at the front and back has nothing to nail to on the ends so a short nailing strip is used for that.
TIMBER RESTRAINTS
Someone clue me in to the correct name .. but Timber Restraint will work until I am pointed to the right term. I put a total of three on the ore bin .. the one in the photo being #2
SUPPORTS FOR ON18 & PEOPLE
Heavy timbers will support the On18 track. The intention is that the ore cars will be side dump types.
The restraint timber on the sides were extended out far enough over the chutes that someone can operate the handwheels that come up from the chutes.
